There are many toys out there that your dog will love and finding them is a delightful excursion to your local pet store. Most pet stores are "Golden friendly" and will allow your Golden Retriever to select his own toy from the array of play things offered. There are hard kong-type chew toys, stuffies of all sorts and kinds, pull toys, tasty toys, sqeaky toys, . . Oh the delights of the dogs toys available these days. Remember to double check by reading the toy label to make sure the manufaturer of the toy has assured you as the consumer that this toy is safe for your pet . . . .

 


1.12.09 :: Remember to take care of your Golden's teeth. Besides regular brushing with dog appropriate "brushing tools", you can provide your Golden with chew toys designed to promote dental health in dogs. Good strong jaws are a secondary benefit from good quality chew toys . . .

1.14.09 :: If you wake up one morning and your "Golden" friend does not seem to be his or her usual self, take a closer look. If he/she is not eating, drinking, and is laying quietly for long periods of time without getting up, spend some time gently suggesting a normal play activity or offer for the Golden to go outside for a normal morning potty time. If your Golden just doesn't seem to be acting right to you, it may be time to call your veterinarian . . .

1.18.09 :: Do not hesitate to consult with the veterinarian when your pet seems ill. Getting to the root of the problem quickly also means a quicker recovery time in most cases. You may be able to nip the problem in the bud thus saving on the overall medical expenses and maybe even keeping your beloved pet from having an upsetting stay in the animal hospital . . .
